Yes, we do have an app for that.

Technology Services is pleased to announce, a new mobile hub for apps that will make your life as an #illini a lot easier. Use the hub to find apps for just about every task, from using Illinois Compass 2g to preparing diabetic-friendly meals.

The site uses three filters to divide apps: All, For Students, and Developed at UIUC. After filtering, click on each app to see if it is available on iOS, Android, or web, and get instructions for download.

Amy Hovious, lead, hopes the hub will increase awareness of mobile resources on campus. In particular, Hovious wants existing and emerging mobile technology to enrich student experience.

“I’ve overheard students try to pull up Illinois Compass 2g on their phones, just using a browser, and they’d get so frustrated. One even said, ‘I wish there was an app for this!’ I struggled to not lean over and interrupt their conversation to say that there is," Hovious says.

The All option is the default. It displays apps made for and by members of the Illinois community. Using this option, see everything from the bus app (CU-MTD) to Retail Meat Identification, an iOS app that helps people learn about and identify cuts of meat.

The For Students filter is tailored to student needs. Use the UI Dining app to locate specific dining halls and check balances or the Illini Spaces app to find comfortable study spaces on campus.

Illinois is a vibrant place for mobile development. Filter by Developed at UIUC to see apps developed here. Use Minrva to search the local or I-Share library catalog or Course Explorer to browse class offerings by term while on the move.
