Watson and Tableau Available for Free
Two pieces of cutting-edge data software are available to use for teaching for free. IBM's Watson Analytics tool and the Tableau Desktop software can be leveraged for classroom use by University of Illinois instructors and students at no cost.
IBM's website calls Watson Analytics "a smart data discovery service available on the cloud, it guides data exploration, automates predictive analytics and enables effortless dashboard and infographic creation."
Tableau is described as "business intelligence software that allows anyone to easily connect to data, then visualize and create interactive, sharable dashboards."
