How to get this service

Access to the Campus LDAP is available on campus (or via Client VPN) through an LDAP-based client.

No charge

How to use this service

Any LDAP client or LDAP client API. Data can also be accessed through the Illinois.edu website under directory search.
 

Quotas and usage restrictions

Anonymous queries can pull back a maximum of 50 entries and run for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Sensitive data considerations

Directory contains data on FERPA-suppressed users. To access this data, service managers must complete FERPA training and request a service account with access to the specific data.

Scheduled maintenance hours

Monthly patching the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 5:30 and 7:30 AM. Other maintenance may be done periodically, but always weekday mornings between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM or weekend mornings between 5:30 AM and 10:00 AM.

Staffed support hours

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
