Why to use this service

  • This service provides a SAFETY net for the end user all over campus.
  • There are 675 emergency phones on campus. 248 are in elevators, 427 are outside with and without kiosks and areas of refuge. Technology Services responds immediately when one is not working.
  • Technology Services supports this service. We work with Public Safety to make sure they are working and on placement of phones.
  • These phones increase the SAFETY of our campus. The phones are highly visible and easy to operate.

How to get this service

Requests for Emergency Phones are submitted by Unit Coordinators as service requests via Pinnacle or via phone at 217-244-7000.

Hours and support

Standard service hours

Response to regular trouble tickets within 48 hours of submisssion (e.g. clean graffiti from kiosk). Response to emergencies ASAP (no dial tone).

Scheduled maintenance hours

No regular maintenance activities that take down service

Staffed support hours

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
