Why to use this service

The Google Apps @ Illinois service provides massive functionality to students, faculty, and staff with very little cost to the university. Google offers 30GB of mail storage, or 300x the default quota available to students on the previous Express Mail system. Since many people are already familiar with the Google suite of applications, Google Apps @ Illinois allows students, faculty, and staff to hit the ground running with a familiar set of productivity tools.

How to get this service

New Google Apps @ Illinois accounts for undergraduate students are created through the Partner Computing application at partnercomputing.illinois.edu. Faculty, staff, and graduate students can create a Google Apps @ Illinois account through the Technology Services Cloud Dashboard application (https://cloud-dashboard.illinois.edu/).

How to use this service

After creating an account, customers can begin using the service at (external link) or leverage Google's suite of mobile applications, as well as the Google Drive desktop client for desktop file synchronization. IMAP and POP services are also provided as an alternative method for accessing Gmail.

Quotas and usage restrictions

30GB of email and file storage per account.
Gmail file attachments are limited to 25MB.
Google Sites attachments are limited to 20MB.
