Why to use this service

Departments can leverage central DHCP services to provide IP address assignments to networks without running and maintaining a server on their network.  DNS interface allows network admins to make self-service changes to records.  This allows the admin to make timely and efficient changes to dns records without requiring intervention by Technology Services networking personnel.

How to get this service

IT Professionals can request DNS or DHCP services by sending an email to net-trouble@illinois.edu.

Cost

Each campus unit is eligible for one subdomain free of charge. Additional subdomains cost $10 per year. Approved vanity domains cost $10 per year plus registration, renewal, and/or transfer fees equal to the amount that Technology Services pays the registrar.

Scheduled maintenance hours

Maintenance windows are the same as the campus Network.  Posted maintenance windows are: 5:30am-7:30am M-F, 5:30am-10:00am Sat, and 5:30-noon Sunday, however all outages require coordination with Public Safety.

Staffed support hours

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
