University of Illinois announces key leadership updates

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is bolstering its commitment to privacy, technology and academic excellence with a few notable updates to its leadership teams. These changes include increased roles for key administrators and revised titles for leaders at the Office of the CIO, reflecting expanding responsibilities and strategic alignment.

Illinois Chief Information Officer Mairéad Martin has been given an additional title and is now Vice Provost for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, contingent on formal approval from the Board of Trustees. This change highlights her ongoing efforts to lead Illinois’ technology strategy and reflects Vice Provost Martin’s collaborative and strategic work within the Office of the Provost and the university. More about the leadership team at the Office of the Provost.

Chief Information Security Officer Kim Milford has been given the additional title of Chief Privacy Officer, in alignment with the university’s IT Strategic Plan.
