Faculty, Staff, and Student Technology Equipment Needs

The university is committed to ensuring educational technology access for all students, faculty, and staff.

If you need access to a laptop, internet connectivity or a smartphone for the Safer Illinois app, the following programs are available.


Technology Services works directly with the Student Assistance Center and the campus IT community to provide access to technology equipment.

All students with technology needs should contact the Student Assistance Center at helpdean@illinois.edu.

Faculty and Staff should begin by contacting their department's IT staff.


Technology Loaner Program

For additional information about the Technology Loaner Program, please visit the Technology Services Knowledgebase.

The Technology Loaner Program offers various types of technology to faculty, staff, and students, primarily to continue online learning and teaching while off campus. Technology is dependant on availability, but includes:

  • USB Webcams
  • Mac and Windows laptops
  • Cellular internet devices for those without access to internet connectivity
  • Other accessories including keyboards and mice depending on availability

 

Smartphone Loans for Safer Illinois App

For additional information about the Safer Illinois App, visit safer.illinois.edu.

Please note that usage of the Safer Illinois App is highly encouraged, but not required. Faculty, staff, and students can request a smartphone to use with the Safer Illinois app to see COVID-19 test results, display building access status, and receive exposure notifications.

The smartphones will be restricted only to allow the Safer Illinois, Illinois, Duo Mobile, Safari, and Mail apps.
