Benjamin Barkin-Wilkins, Lead Network Engineer for the Office of the Chief Information Officer, was awarded a 2024 Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Award for his knowledge, experience, hard-work, and humility. Benjamin led incident response during the campus network event that affected all of campus back in January 2024; during COVID-19, he provided urgent assistance to design, construct, and maintain secure network connection for Carle Foundation Hospital; and many of his colleagues have testified that he demonstrates genuine care for others, has impactful leadership, sound judgement for decision-making, and more.

The Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Award (CSEA) is a yearly recognition for 16 university staff demonstrating excellence in work performance, initiative, creativity, self-improvement and the recognition and support of others. Faculty, staff, or students may nominate an employee that they see deserving of this award, and a committee will select the 16 finalists to recommend to the Chancellor.
