Canvas at Illinois
Who does this project affect?
Faculty, Staff, and Students
What is it?
Implement Canvas as the sole centrally-supported Learning Management System and transition from Illinois Compass, which will retire on May 31, 2022. The project is supported by the Provost, Interim Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, CITL, Tech Services, and unit educational technology support staff.
Why?
The campus’ Student Success Initiative identified that streamlining the LMS experience would have a significant impact on the student experience.

Microsoft Teams Transition
Who does this project affect?
Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students with appointments
What is it?
A multi-year, cross-campus effort to transition from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams as the primary phone communication tool.
Why?
Microsoft announced in 2021 that it will no longer support Skype for Business. The change will go into full effect by May 2023.

TeamDynamix
Who does this project affect?
Faculty, Staff, and Students
What is it?
A University of Illinois System-wide project to create a seamless ticketing system that supports all customers regardless of unit affiliation.
Why?
Customers are often inconvenienced by having to navigate the university organizational structure to locate the help they need. TeamDynamix provides a customer support tool that has a modern, mobile-friendly interface.
