Below are updates for Spring 2022 and answers to common questions we see from students at the beginning of each semester.

All students (since November 2018) have access to an Outlook Online email inbox. You can check your inbox on any device by logging in at webmail.illinois.edu and entering your NetID@illinois.edu.

On your device, look for “IllinoisNet” in your wireless network list. Use your NetID and password to sign in.

You will NOT see your Canvas or Compass course until rosters are loaded on the evening of January 13, 2022.

After January 13, if you still do not see your course, the following reasons may apply:

  • Your instructor may still be finalizing content and you may not see anything until your course meets for the first time.
  • If you added a new course after January 13, your instructor may need to manually add you to the roster before your course shows up.
  • Your instructor may be using another learning management system.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is required for all Illinois graduate and professional students.

Follow the steps in this article to register a device for 2FA.

  • Launch the Zoom desktop or mobile client
  • Select “Sign In”
  • Select “Sign In with SSO”
  • Enter “illinois” for the company domain (illinois.zoom.us)
  • Enter your NetID and Password

Visit our Zoom essentials guide for additional assistance signing in and other Zoom features.
