Campus Wi-Fi Certificate Update

On April 4, IllinoisNet and EDUROAM (Wi-Fi network), will have an updated certificate applied. These certificates allow you to sign on to the networks in a secure method using your NetID and password. After this change, your device’s connection may be affected.

Who is affected and what should I do?

If you connected to IllinoisNet by selecting it from the available networks list on your device, you may experience prompts or difficulty accessing Wi-Fi after the change.

To avoid this interruption on April 4 or to fix the issue after the change, go to go.illinois.edu/IllinoisNetSetup and follow the prompts on your screen to install an app. The setup page for EDUROAM can be accessed here: go.illinois.edu/EDUROAMsetup. You are encouraged to do so as soon as possible to avoid any future interruptions.

If you are properly connected already, a prompt will let you know, and you do not need to proceed. If it is not installed already, it will prompt you to continue.

For any endpoints managed by Group Policy Object (GPO) with the correct certificate chain and domain name, no change is needed.
